Emergency Flood Appeal

50,000 displaced in Sudan

Emergency Flood Appeal

Flooding caused by torrential rain across Sudan has displaced more than 50,000 people. The intensity of the flash floods has claimed many lives, leaving hundreds injured; with casualties increasing daily.

Specifically, the South Tokar region has seen a significant amount of destruction. On the blessed day of Arafah, South Tokar was hit with severe flooding, destroying hundreds of homes and leaving more than 20,000 of its people displaced. Those in the surrounding areas have also been impacted, with children most at risk.

In order to contain the disaster, we need to act early and prevent further casualties. Ethar Relief's team is on the ground ready to distribute food packs to the needy, along with mosquito nets to prevent spread of disease.

A family food pack provides a family of five with a one month supply containing clean water, lentils, flour, oil, and beans.
